Shriners Children's New England is committed to advancing pediatric orthopedic education through collaboration with our partners at Boston University School of Medicine and Albany Medical College.
For over 30 years, Shriners Children's New England has worked with students and residents from our partner schools, including Boston University (BU) and Albany Medical College (AMC), as well as other surrounding academic institutions. Our education programs are designed to help students and residents gain real-world experience in pediatric orthopedics.
While onsite, students and residents gain valuable clinical and surgical experience, working with our orthopedic staff and patients. Our team also provides diagnosis training for conditions such as pediatric spinal deformity, sports medicine, cerebral palsy, limb deficiency, and hand and upper extremity issues.
Students and residents are exposed to everything from evaluating patients in clinical situations to performing surgical treatment under the supervision of attending staff. They also manage pre and post-op issues in collaboration with our nursing and attending staff.
