Shriners Children’s Texas Welcomes New Clinical Psychologist Staci Grant, Psy.D.

Staci Grant, Psy.D., earned her undergraduate degree and doctorate degree in combined clinical and school psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She then completed her pre-doctoral training in the department of psychology at UTHealth Science Center San Antonio, and post-doctoral training as a research fellow in the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at UTHealth Science Center at Houston.

Dr. Grant joins the Shriners Children’s Texas psychology department with the purpose of providing counseling services for inpatient and outpatient patients and their families. “I hope to develop long-term relationships with our families. I want to help parents when they’re struggling and when their family is struggling,” she said.

She is currently a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers (APAHC), and American Psychological Association (APA, Division 54). Grant’s interests include treatment adherence, treating comorbid mental and physical health disorders, adjustment to new medical diagnoses, and working with individuals across the lifespan to address health behavior change. She said she has always enjoyed working with children and families, and she is excited to contribute to the mission of Shriners Children’s Texas.

“When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband, taking our dog on walks and playing in the park, baking, and doing yardwork and landscaping,” she said.
