Full Biography

Craig McDonald, M.D., is Medical Director of the Spina Bifida Program at Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California. He also is Professor of Clinical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of California Davis, School of Medicine. A member of the Spinal Cord Injury Advisory Group for Shriners Hospitals for Children – Northern California, Dr. McDonald is Board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.

Dr. McDonald is also Director of the NIDRR Rehabilitation Research and Training Center in Neuromuscular Disease (RRTC/NMD) at the University of California Davis, School of Medicine. Dr. McDonald’s professional affiliations include the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
