It’s not too early to issue a winning appraisal to a real-estate deal that benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children — Northern California. The hospital has received its first “commission” from REALTORS® Who Shrine, a generous donation program that directs 25 percent of participating real-agents’ commision from every residential sale directly to the hospital in the name of the clients.

REALTORS® Who Shrine founder Kathi Jobson and homebuyer Sarah Castle presented the Shriners Hospital in Sacramento with a check for $2,125 on Friday, April 29. Jobson represented Castle in her recent purchase of an Orangevale home, and the donation was made to the hospital in Castle’s name.

“It is always rewarding to help buyers find a home in a community that is meaningful to them. It is heartwarming to work with homebuyers like Sarah who want to give back to their community. We appreciate her enthusiasm for REALTORS® WhoShrine,” said Jobson, a 20-year veteran of the real estate industry who established the donation program in partnership with her husband Michael Ashker.“Throughout our careers, Michael and I have met so many people who want to give back. We were delighted to create a business model that supports an ongoing stream of donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children without costing our clients a cent. Being able to make this donation to the hospital just weeks after starting the program makes us feel very proud.”

Alan Anderson, Director of Development at the Northern California Shriners Hospital, accepted the donation on behalf of the hospital. Hospital staff and volunteers joined him at the donation ceremony. “The professionals who work here know what a difference our Shriners Hospital makes in the lives of children. We are anxious to show our appreciation to those who generously support the specialized care our hospital provides,” said Anderson.
